STRATEGIC THINKING
Strategy is actually an easily consumed word and is not used in the way it should be; therefore, it is not handled in the way it deserves... However, in some of the decisions we make in our daily lives, both on an individual basis and on a corporate basis, the "backbone" of the decision should be strategic. When the results of some seemingly simple decisions taken today are not in line with our strategy, they can cause us to take paths we did not foresee - we then try to explain them with approaches such as luck or fate. From this perspective, we can define strategy very simply;
"Utilization of all resources at all levels in a way that guarantees sustainable development to the maximum extent possible"
Strategy should be examined in two main stages: Strategic Thinking and Strategic Planning
Strategic Thinking: Individual Competence
When strategic thinking is managed correctly, it is formed by the visions of the management team and all employees within the organization and requires individual competence. In other words, talented, visionary employees with a strategic perspective!
From this point of view, the purpose of strategic thinking is to:
-
Re-establishing the rules of competition,
-
For the future, very different from today,
-
Can create potential growth
-
Exploring unconceived and creative strategies
Strategic Planning: Corporate Competence
Strategic planning is the planning of step plans at mega, macro and micro levels to cover the entire business in order to realize the vision of the business.
While mega goals concern every function of the business, macros should generally concern departments and micros should concern the operating units that perform the relevant function.
From this perspective, the purpose of strategic planning is; to make strategies applicable with creative thoughts and to support the strategic thinking process.
